The Band
We have a very extensive repertoire from the 50s to cuurent chart hits, ranging from Frank Sinatra to Snow Patrol including other artists such as Queen, Status Quo, Elton John, David Gray, The Monkees, Abba, Westlife, The Beatles, Oasis, Kaiser chiefs and many, many more. We of course cover the main ceilidh dances.(Gay Gordons, Strip the Willow, Dashing White Sergeant, Eightsome reel)
Using a top quality sound system, together with top of the range microphones, and running this all through our 24 channel mixing desk with Peter (Our sound expert)at the helm, ensures an excellent quality of sound.
We can add additional amps and speakers for larger events.
Basically booking Blue Express means they cover everything to suit everybody's taste.
Travel
We travel throughout Scotland, and aim to arrive at any event 1 hour before we start, so that we have plenty time to set up the equipment, and do a sound check where possible.
Depending on where the function is, we may of course have to stay overnight.
First Dance
We can let you have our song list, or you can ask for advice on what songs we play that would be most suited to your first dance. Should you have a request however that we are unable to accommodate, we would be happy to play this on CD. Please do not hesitate to ask.
Demo CD
We would encourage you to hear us playing live, and with an advanced call, this can easily be arranged. We have a demo CD however which we can send you, so all we need is a phone call or email requesting this, and a CD will be dispatched to you.
The Package
Although Blue Express is perfectly capable of entertaining for the whole evening, we do understand that occasionally a mixture of the band and a disco is what is required. (Especially if you intent to have a long period of entertainment.)
We work very closely with two excellent Disc Jockeys, who also takes their work seriously. The very best of equipment is used along with a superb light show, not to mention the very extensive collection of tracks to suit all tastes. This a very popular option, and an ideal set up would be having the band play up to the buffet, and then the disco for the remainder of the evening. (The buffet period is an ideal time for the disco to set up, whilst the band sets down)
